We are saddended to learn of the passing of one of soul singer and musician Bill Withers aged 81. The legacy of his music will live on forever.

Bill Withers has died aged 81 and leaves behind a legacy of music that is unparalleled on so many levels. Not only did he possess one of the most soulful voices in music between the 1970s and 80s but he was also an incredibly creative musician and song-writer.

So many jazz and pop cover bands owe so much to this man, with some of his most popular songs being the bedrock of band sets across the globe. I myself as a saxophone player can't begin to count the number of times I have played classic like 'Ain't No Sunshine', 'Just The Two of Us', 'Lovely Day', 'Use Me' and more...

I don't want to delve into a full obituary here, there is wikipedia for that but I did want to take the time to list some of the man's greatest songs and music, including a link to a brilliant live concert that Bill did in 1972 which features songs such as... 'Lonely Town, Lonely Street', 'Ain't No Sunshine', 'Use Me', 'Let Me In Your Life', 'Kissin' My Love', 'Lean On Me', 'Harlem'....
