Why background music should take centre stage

Published: 3 Jun 14, 10:20am  |  Author: DG Music

Sometimes the old adage that ‘silence is golden’ rings true, but when it comes to special events it can be crucial to have background music to enhance the day.

The role of background music varies from one event to the next but in general it helps to set the tone of the occasion and can be a great talking point among guests if you make the right choices.

Background music is most commonly used in wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions and at corporate events.

For weddings the background music can break the uncomfortable silence and ease the tensions of people waiting for the bride to arrive while at a drinks reception or corporate event it can create a welcoming or lively atmosphere to get people into the party spirit.

Each event will have its own style requirements but there are a range of different musicians who can tailor their performances to suit each of them.

DG Music can provide musicians for all kinds of events across the country. They are all experienced performers who can offer their own advice on the best background wedding music or background party music for your event.

This provides a stunning focal point at a special occasion. A harpist gives an air of elegance and sophistication which people will often associate with more classical tunes, but it’s not necessarily the case. Many harpists will incorporate current pop tunes while some can even offer Bollywood and folk songs.

An acoustic guitarist or duo is a great way to provide a modern twist to your background music. They often have a repertoire which spans modern and classical tunes which makes them a popular choice for younger wedding couples or events with a mixed audience.
