George Releases Debut Album

Published: 13 Feb 13, 10:06am  |  Author: Katy Miller

Singer / songwriter George released his debut album, Playing for Strangers, this month. Hoping to accomplish his lifelong ambition of entering the UK music charts, his album has already received airplay on the BEAT across BBC Radio Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Lincolnshire.

As part of our roster, George has performed at lots of weddings and events, and always astounds audiences with his take on pop hits. Following the release of this album, he is now a fully fledged star - receiving critical claim by celebs and radio stations across the UK!

George describes the album as 'very organic instrumentally with a commercial sound.' Instrumentally, the album is natural and not overly produced - but it still retains that 'pop' sound that will appeal to many audiences, and have you singing along very quickly!

One of the stumbling blocks for artists to achieve success is the reliance of getting signed by a major record label, and so George bravely decided to set up his own record label and launch himself. The first step was to write the material and find a producer to mix the album. After 4 months, the album was ready to be mastered at none other than the famous Abbey Road studios…

‘I wanted to make the album something to remember so took a trip to Abbey Road and had my album fully mastered by top engineer Geoff Pershe, who only a few days before had been finishing off Kylie Minogue’s album.’

The album is acoustically driven with contemporary pop, rock and indie influences. Check out the video for track ‘Never Leave You Out In The Rain’:

We are sure that the album will be a popular hit amongst George’s ever growing fanbase, and it certainly proves that there are other ways to follow your dreams than waiting for that signed deal.
