Chris Conway Background Jazz

Chris Conway is a multi-talented American singer and musician based in Leicester. Chris can provide solo cocktail piano and/or vocals and also work with saxophone or guitar to make a duo.

Mellow Sophistication
Jazz piano adds a touch of mellow sophistication to any occasion, be it a meal, social gathering, cocktail party, function or conference. With Chris Conway you are in safe hands – 20 years a professional – he has the knack of knowing what is right for any situation and providing the perfect warm ambiance to suit.

Wide Repertoire
Alternating his wonderful swinging piano with his warm soulful voice he plays and sings jazz classics such as Summertime, Girl From Ipanema, My Baby Just Cares For Me, Moon River, and cool modern jazz standards by the likes of Miles Davis and Pharaoh Sanders. If the party kicks up a bit, Chris can go into some Ray Charles hits (Hit The Road Jack, Unchain My Heart) or some blues, Van Morrison or 60s pop like The Beatles, The Mamas & The Papas and even the Beach Boys.

Full Sound
Chris can either play a supplied piano, or bring his realistic sounding electric piano which has the advantage that Chris can play a bass sound with his left hand making for a great full sound. This is no backing track or machine – he really can play jazz bass notes with his left hand while soloing piano with his right and singing at the same time - amazing!

Duo Options
For a fuller jazz experience, Chris can be booked together with a sax player or guitarist. Chris regularly works with saxophonists Andy Nicholls and David Graham.

We have no hesitation in recommending Chris Conway. As well as being an exceptional musician, he was thoroughly professional and a true gentleman. He managed to find the perfect balance of songs to compliment the atmosphere of our wedding breakfast, whilst not overwhelming or upsetting the ambience. He played several of our requests which we were delighted about and many of our guests commented on how well the music fitted in with the atmosphere. Chris will be the first name we think of if we need a musician for any other events.
