Why Hire a Rock ‘n’ Roll Band?
Rock ‘n’ roll, the cornerstone of modern rock music, continues to captivate audiences across generations with its enduring charm. Featuring the biggest and best hits from the 50s and 60s, a rock ‘n’ roll band promises an electrifying performance that’s sure to get the dance floor rockin! With a repertoire that resonates with millennials, grandparents, and everyone in between, they guarantee a lively, unforgettable party experience.
What sort of music do your rock ‘n’ roll bands play?
Our Rock ‘n’ Roll bands perform renditions of well-known songs from the 50s & 60s, including artists such as Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Cash… the list goes on!
Along the way, you’ll also be treated to a few rockabilly and jive songs to spice things up. You may be surprised as many of our bands throw in a few contemporary chart hits done in an authentic rock ‘n’ roll style.
What events do Rock ‘n’ Roll bands play?
A Rock ‘n’ Roll band is the perfect fit for any occasion requiring high-energy retro-styled music. Although popular for wedding receptions, they’re also a great fit for 50s-themed events, festivals, anniversary parties, corporate functions and theatre shows.
How much space does the band need?
It depends on the size of the band, but as a guide, it’s best to set aside a space of 3 x 3 meters for a 3-piece band and 4 x 3 meters for a 4-piece rock ‘n’ roll band. All our vintage bands provide their own sound equipment and lighting, which will need to be accommodated. No matter the space, the band will always do their very best to work with whatever space you have available.
Do Rock ‘n’ Roll bands only play older music?
Not at all! Although most rock ‘n’ roll bands focus their set on 50s and 60s classics, a few contemporary chart hits are often thrown in to add a little variety to the mix. Depending on the band, you may also hear popular songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s performed in a rock ‘n’ roll style – it really does depend on the band.
How long does it take the band to set up?
Set-up time can vary based on a few key factors, such as the size of the band, the type of equipment they use, the venue, and how complex their technical setup is.
A standard band will need about 60 – 90 minutes to set up and perform a soundcheck comfortably. It’s a good idea to discuss setup times before your event to ensure the band doesn’t interfere with any ongoing proceedings when they arrive at the venue.
Will the band learn our First Dance?
If you’re looking for a band to perform your First Dance song request live, then this isn’t an issue. As long as this is communicated before the event and the band has given the OK, they’ll happily play your First Dance.
If you haven’t yet thought of a suitable song, these popular first dance songs should give you some inspiration:
- Can’t Help Falling in Love – Elvis Presley
- You Never Can Tell – Chuck Berry
- True Love Ways – Buddy Holly
- I Want to Hold Your Hand – The Beatles
- Dream Lover – Bobby Darin
- Stand By Me – Ben E. King
How much do Rock ‘n’ Roll bands cost?
