Bodger's Mate Ceilidh Bands & Barn Dances

Bodger's Mate is a lively 3 or 4 piece group playing uptempo numbers by bands such as The Pogues and The Dubliners alongside other traditional favourites.

All of the musicians are multi-instrumentalists who between them play acoustic guitars, mandola, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, harmonica, banjo, concertina, whistles, and percussion, not to forget the singing!

I am writing to thank you for playing at my daughter's wedding on Saturday. The evening was every thing I'd hoped it would be and a lot lot more.In fact, I can't find the superlatives to describe it. From the moment you started playing with your brilliant 'split up and go and get another person on the floor' the whole evening rocked! I've not been to a wedding when the dance floor was permanently full ever before. Every single person of every single age group just had the greatest of times, from the little flower girls to my husband's dad, who's 90!!!

Where do I begin? 'Bodgers' you certainly were not and 'Mates' we very quickly became. I don't know how I can say a big enough thank you because you were excellent in every respect and really made the wedding.

It is amazing the number of comments that we have received from guests at Amanda and James's wedding saying how brilliant you were. Not only are you all very skilled musicians who can play a wide range of instruments and material but most importantly you know how to get everybody onto the dance floor and keep them there. You have a knack of knowing what is needed to make an event go well and then actually being able to deliver the goods. Best of all, every member of the band is very friendly, relaxed and only there to make sure that everybody enjoys themselves.

The music in the evening was just unbelievable. You worked so hard! My family enjoy a dance, yet can be really unruly. You kept them and all our friends on the dance floor all night. In fact you filled the dance floor from the very first track to the very last track.
