String quartets normally comprise four musicians playing two violins, a viola and a cello. They are able to play a wide range of music from well known classical works through to arrangements of popular pieces from musicals, film and pop music.

The fact that string quartets are acoustic makes them extremely versatile in terms of where they can play. They don’t need lots of room (approx. 3m by 3m) and only require four armless chairs. Most string quartets are more than happy to perform outdoors, but you may need to consider providing shelter from direct sunlight as this can adversely affect their instruments.

String quartets usually have a basic charge for one or two hours minimum and have an additional rate for each extra hour required. Some quartets also offer trio and duo options if space or budget is an issue. Please see individual quartet profiles below for more info.
