Alan Barnes is among the most respected jazz saxophonists and clarinettists in the UK and is in constant demand for jazz concert/club programmes nationwide.

Alan who broadcast with the BBC Big Band for 10 years, has also toured with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, the Jazz Renegades and the Humphrey Lyttleton Band. He has also worked on numerous pop albums from Bjork to Jamie Cullum and played with the Laurie Holloway Orchestra on Strictly Come Dancing and Parkinson.

Alan has a range of projects and line-ups which he is currently touring including....

- The Liquorice-Stick All Sorts - A new group and new trio featuring Alan on the clarinet with Jim Hart on the vibes and Paul Clavis on the drums.

- The Bruce Adams / Alan Barnes Quintet - This long running sparring partnership is well into its second decade. Bruce is one of the most natural swinging trumpet players around. The ebullient rhythm section features Pascal Michaux on piano, Alec Dankworth on bass and Bobby Worth on drums. Straight ahead be-bop at its best!

- and many more..!

Alan is always willing to consider guest appearances with local rhythm sections and/or big bands etc.
