The region of Yorkshire and The Humber encompasses the counties of South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, and part of North Lincolnshire. The largest city in the area is Leeds and other cities and large towns are Bradford, Hull, Ripon, Sheffield, Wakefield, York, Doncaster, Grimsby, Halifax, Huddersfield and Scunthorpe.

Musically the region is famous for its brass bands such as the Black Dyke Band and Grimethorpe Colliery Band but has also produced other acts such as The Human League, Arctic Monkeys, Herman's Hermits, Kaiser Chiefs, SOft Cell, Whitesnake, The Housemartins, The Beautiful South, Moloko and Sade!
