King Ska is a 9 piece Jamaican style Ska band from Leicester, who have been performing all over the UK for over 10 years.
Background
King Ska was formed back in early 1999 by keyboard player Mark Pearson with its' name deriving from the 1950's Ska track of the same name (written by B Brooks - Baba Brooks and his band). The rest of the member line up derived from many former members from Skaboom, the UK's premier Ska band including Jon Read who had just finished a USA/European tour playing trumpet for The Specials. He also joined them on their UK/European/World tour comeback and was featured on 'Later with Jools Holland', 'Glastonbury' and 'V' Festival main stages and many more).
Events
King Ska are a regular performing outfit with hundreds of shows under their belt, including city festivals and carnivals, public venues, weddings, special events and corporate functions. With a solid 4 piece rhythm back line it beautifully sets the stage for the powerful 5 piece brass frontline to be let loose!

King Ska aim to bring back to audiences that solid, rhythmic and powerful Ska sound of the old time greats (and more recent ones) and simply entertain the pants off you. If your feet don't tap and your body don't move - you're probably dead!

Just happened to pass by Out of the Vaults (venue) this Saturday and you had people dancing in the streets.This is a must see band. Really enjoyed the night.
