Background Jazz

Jonny's Hot Club Trio plays a vibrant blend of Gypsy Swing, jazz standards and funky Latin. Their snappy arrangements, infectious rhythms and passion make this a suitable addition to any event.

Experience and Passion
Jonny's Hot Club Trio are veterans of the jazz scene. The members have worked with artists including Jimmy Scott and his band The Jazz Expressions at Ronnie Scott's, John Etheridge, Bireli Lagrene, Lulu Reinhardt and many more. Their talent and experience is indisputable and they have a clear passion for the music.

The Music
The bands repertoire includes their own interpretaion of many jazz standards, bebop, Latin tunes and more traditional Gypsy/Hot Club. They have an extensive repertoire both for instrumental and vocal jazz.

Vocal Option
The trio have the option to add superb vocalist Sarah which is a great addition for those that want the group to have more connection with the audience and perhaps encourage some dancing.

Wide Appeal
The trio have experince in peforming at all kinds events from corpoarate events and weddings to intimate parties. They have played and for a wide variety of audiences and never fail to deliver!

Jonny - Guitar

In the U.K, Jonny is one of the few truly authentic players on the gypsy jazz scene. His background has seen years of experience playing amongst some of the top gypsy guitarists in the world including Bireli Lagrene, Lulu Reinhardt and Stochelo Rosenberg amongst others.

Jason - Guitar

Dominating the jazz guitar scene in Brighton for over 10 years, during which time he has been hired by many of the country's finest musicians, including US legend Joe Lee Wilson and The Charlotte Glasson Group. As well as playing in many jazz clubs all over England, He also appeared at many music festivals including Marlborough, Bestival and Plymouth world music festival.

Dan - Double-Bass

Dan has worked the jazz scene for 15 years, played with the great Jimmy Scott and his band The Jazz Expressions at Ronnie Scott's, guitar hero John Etheridge, tenor titan Bobby Wellins, former Oscar Peterson drummer Bobby Durham, former McCoy Tyner drummer George Johnson. His sense of musicality and groove underpins the Trio perfectly.
