Ivan Organist

Education and Teaching
Ivan has lived and worked as an organist in the Rutland area for over 13 years. He studied music at the University of Huddersfield and is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists. As a postgraduate student, he was Organ Scholar at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and has subsequently held the posts of Director of Music at Oakham Parish Church, Assistant Director of Music at Leicester Cathedral and Organist of Oakham School.

Performances
Ivan has given organ recitals and accompanied choirs at various English cathedrals (including St Paul’s Cathedral, London), as well as at many churches and concert halls across the country. He has performed on BBC television and radio and has visited a variety of countries as an accompanist, including Ireland, France, Belgium, Italy, Hungary and the USA.

Consultation
Ivan enjoys meeting with people to discuss their choice of music for various occasions and excels at achieving musical balance for an event, whether it is a religious service or a concert. Ivan is a frequent organist for church services in the local area including Noseley Hall, All Saints Church (Oakham), Exton Chapel, Langham Church, and makes occasional visits further afield to cathedrals to accompany choirs.

Funerals
Ivan was a regular organist at the Peterborough Crematorium for several years and is sensitive to the needs and requirements of the bereaved when selecting music for performance at funeral and memorial services.
