Music line-up revealed for eighth Rutland Day celebrations

Published: 15 Jul 14, 02:30pm  |  Author: DG Music

DG Music is proud to be providing the soundtrack to this year’s Rutland Day which takes place on the shores of Rutland Water.

We’ve got an exciting mix of talented musicians lined up to entertain the crowds as they celebrate everything that is great about Rutland.

Rutland Day is now in its eighth year and promises to be a fun day out for all the family, and best of all – it’s free!

One of our most loved bands The Houndogs will set the stage alight with their energetic performances of all your favourite rockabilly hits. Their sizzling performances never fail to entertain crowds of all ages, with toe-tapping hits for the older generations and on-stage acrobatics for their new generation of fans.

Our popular ska band The Paradimes will also take to the stage. The band takes the authentic sounds of ska legends from the 60s and 70s and uses it in today’s era of music to create a unique sound.

Watch this clip of the band in action.

Other bands set to perform during the event are Paspatou and the Rutland Concert Band.

Paspatou is a four-piece group from Stamford which takes its inspiration from the musical sounds of the Balkans, India and Ireland. Their eclectic repertoire varies between eastern European dance tracks and Irish ballads.

Members of the Rutland Concert Band are regular guests at Rutland Day and other local events. They have been performing in and around the country since 2008 and have built up a fantastic repertoire of classical and modern music.

Away from the music stage, guests can enjoy the Rutland Food Festival with its tempting range of tasty local treats. Other activities include children’s entertainment, face painting, bouncy castles and balloon modelling.

The event is hosted by Anglian Water. Visitor operations manager Kevin Appleton said: “This really is a great fun family day out and something we are proud to host each year.

“All the previous Rutland Days have been a terrific success and we hope the crowds will help us make this year even better than the last.”

So don’t miss out on this great day of live music and family fun.
