The Houndogs return to the Chelsea Flower Show

Published: 29 Apr 14, 10:25am  |  Author: DG Music

Garden lovers can enjoy the sound of The Houndogs as they browse the spectacular displays at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

The band has been invited back to the event in the grounds of The Royal Hospital in London after wowing the crowds last year.

The rockabilly band will be one of the acts to entertain visitors during the second day of the event, which is only open to members of the Royal Horticultural Society.

Other highlights of this year’s show will include a garden designed by Alan Titchmarsh, vice president of the RHS, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Britain in Bloom and his own 50 years in horticulture.

It has been almost 30 years since Alan designed a garden for the show, having won a gold medal in 1985 for his country kitchen garden.

The show will also commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War with a range of special exhibits in the Grand Pavilion.  The Royal British Legion and Birmingham City Council have joined forces for the floral exhibit which will include wartime memorabilia, giant poppies and reconstructions of life in the trenches. There will also be gardens reflecting pre and post war times.

The Houndogs will perform on Wednesday, May 21 at 4pm.

Watch them performing on Sky TV's Must Be The Music here.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is on from Tuesday, May 20 until Saturday, May 24 but the first two days are only open to members of the RHS.

Book tickets here.
